42cfb3835b Remove Sonic experimental audio codec 
Since initially committed in 2004, this codec has only been touched
for maintenanance.  Functionally, it contains no novel ideas and
its intended audience is better served by existing mature codecs.

b33fa8a1cd CrystalHD decoder support v7 
The Broadcom CrystalHD decoder chips provide hardware video
decoding for a number of video formats. It does so using a
memory:memory interface where a compressed bitstream is fed
in and decompressed pictures are copied out. As such, it works
independent of any graphics hardware in the system.

Features supported in this initial version:
* Support for Linux (using current drivers/library from git.wilsonet.com)
* Support for 70015 hardware
* Formats: MPEG2, MPEG4 Part 2, H.264, VC1 and DivX 3.11 (untested)
* Progressive content
* Non-H.264 Interlaced content
* H.264 MBAFF content

Features missing in this initial version:
* Support for OSX (might work - untested)
* Support for Windows
* Support for 70012 hardware
* H.264 PAFF content

737eb5976f Merge libavcore into libavutil 
It is pretty hopeless that other considerable projects will adopt
libavutil alone in other projects. Projects that need small footprint
are better off with more specialized libraries such as gnulib or rather
just copy the necessary parts that they need. With this in mind, nobody
is helped by having libavutil and libavcore split. In order to ease
maintenance inside and around FFmpeg and to reduce confusion where to
put common code, avcore's functionality is merged (back) to avutil.

81c8c18780 Makefile: Fix dependencies of components 
This fixes compilation with --disable-everything --enable-<component>,
for all encoders, decoders, muxers, demuxers, parsers, protocols, bsfs,

645e75992d Fix GSM decoding: regular GSM and MSGSM do not use the same 
bitstream endianness, so they cannot reuse the same code
without a lot of function call overhead.
Thus use templating to compile two different binaries.

4a384de5b8 Split h264dsp and h264pred in configure. 
Many H.264 derivatives, like RV40 and VP8, use the H.264 prediction functions
but not the weight/loopfilter functions.
This should reduce the size of builds with one of these derivatives but without
H.264 decoding itself.

8d370d88e5 Fix VP8 decoder dependencies 
This reverts rev 24674 - the VP8 decoder actually depends on cabac.o.
vp8.c includes vp56.h, which includes cabac.h, which has inline functions
that reference tables from cabac.c.

This fixes compilation with --disable-everything --enable-decoder=vp8.

126b638ea0 Deprecate av_parse_video_frame_size() and av_parse_video_frame_rate() 
in favor of the newly added corresponding functions
av_parse_video_size() and av_parse_video_rate() defined in
libavcore/parseutils.h.

This change also adds a linking-time dependency of libavcodec and of
libavfilter on libavcore.

3fc548df28 Make ff_inverse stay with libavutil, and optional copy it to libavcodec. 
The ff_inverse table is used by FASTDIV macro, defined in libavutil, but up
to now the table was defined only in libavcodec.

After this change, the main copy of ff_inverse is part of libavutil (just
like FASTDIV), but if CONFIG_SMALL is unset, then a different copy is made
available to libavcodec, to avoid the performance penalty of using an
external look up table.

Dynamic linking works, because the libraries are linked with -Bsymbolic, so
the local copy of the symbol has priority over the external; static linking
works because the table is on a standalone object file in both libraries,
so the linker is able to discard one of the two.

Tested on Linux/x86-64 and Mac OS X/x86-64.

aad9f50751 Fix build with hardcoded tables 
The recently added dummy rule for missing headers took precedence
over the tablegen rules.  Listing the generated headers explicitly
overrides this.  A cleaner solution would be preferable.

5e1ba34bbb VP56: move vp56_edge_filter to new VP56DSPContext 
Using macro templates allows the vp[56]_adjust functions to be
inlined instead of called through function pointers.  The new
function pointers enable optimised implementations of the filters.

4% faster VP6 decoding on Cortex-A8.

4693b031a3 Move H264 dsputil functions into their own struct 
This moves the H264-specific functions from DSPContext to the new
H264DSPContext.  The code is made conditional on CONFIG_H264DSP
which is set by the codecs requiring it.

The qpel and chroma MC functions are not moved as these are used by
non-h264 code.

It allows VLD H264 decoding using DXVA2 (GPU assisted decoding API under
VISTA and Windows 7).
 It is implemented by using AVHWAccel API. It has been tested successfully
for some time in VLC using an nvidia card on Windows 7.

 To compile it, you need to have the system header dxva2api.h (either from
microsoft or using http://downloads.videolan.org/pub/videolan/testing/contrib/dxva2api.h)
 The generated libavcodec.dll does not depend directly on any new lib as
the necessary objects are given by the application using FFmpeg.

903d58f631 Get rid of #include "svq3.c" 
functions called more than per mb are moved into the header, scan8 is also
as it must be known at compiletime.
The code after this patch duplicates h264data.h, this has been done to minimize
the changes in this step and allow more fine grained benchmarking.
Speedwise this is 1% faster on my pentium dual core with diegos cursed cathedral
sample.

c76911bd65 Split parts of dvdata.h into dvdata.c, this ensures that things like 
work_chunks_* and dv_idct_factor_* variables appear only once in the binary
instead of 3 times.

95a61cfc24 Make VAAPI/VDPAU variant of decoder foo depend on decoder foo. 
The VAAPI/VDPAU variants of foo require almost all of the code of foo.
Thus it makes little sense to enable just the accelerated variant.
This allows refactoring some object dependencies in the Makefiles.

36b38500b6 Check for CONFIG_LIBFOO_DECODER/CONFIG_LIBFOO_ENCODER instead of just 
CONFIG_LIBFOO in the external libraries section.
This is more consistent with the rest of the Makefiles, it makes clearer what
is actually implemented and should be advantageous if we implement an external
library encoder where we previously just had the decoder and vice versa.

I have called the format v210x due to its similarity to v210, note though I have

f353fbd205 Remove mdct.o and fft.o from fft-test prerequisites list. 
Both objects were added to the link command, resulting in multiple definitions
of symbols. Now linking works in the general case when mdct.o and fft.o are

d59518d45d since Michael prefers to keep dsputil.h private to libavcodec 
(rather than installing it system-wide) this patch reverses the
mistake I made last month (mplayer was recently fixed accordingly).

320d060ae9 On MinGW it is not possible to build shared and static libraries at once. 
Add means to disable building the static libraries and fix a few issues
with the MinGW build.
All the hard work done by Alexander Strasser, minor changes by myself.

fe9a734c82 Add DTS_INC to the CFLAGS for DTS. This is only set by external configure 
programs (such as the MPlayer one) and thus somewhat hackish.  We already
do this for things like MLIB_INC and IPP_INC so it should be acceptable.
