Seth R Johnson 9c85d828a1 Fix ELF detection on Intel compilers 
The Intel compiler does not define __amd64__ on x86_64 platforms;
instead, like other compilers, it defines __x86_64__ .

libbsd - Utility functions from BSD systems

This library provides useful functions commonly found on BSD systems,
and lacking on others like GNU systems, thus making it easier to port
projects with strong BSD origins, without needing to embed the same
code over and over again on each project.
